The official website for Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest TV anime announced on June 3, 2022, that the franchise will release a new OVA titled, Maboroshi no Bouken to Kiseki no Kaigou (Phantom Adventure and A Miraculous Encounter).
The announcement also unveiled a new key visual and a teaser trailer for the OVA.
A prescreening of the OVA will be held on Sep 9, 2022, at Shinjuku Piccadilly, Tokyo. The screening will include a talk show segment featuring four members of the main cast -Toshinari Fukamachi as Hajime , Yuki Kuwahara as Yue , Yukana as Milady, and Takuma Terashima as Oscar.
The blue-ray of the 40- minute OVA will be included in the special edition of the 13th volume of the light novel, which is set to release on Sep 25, 2022.
The upcoming OVA will introduce Satoshi Hino as Naiz Gruen Caliente, the protagonist of the Arifureta Zero prequel series.
The OVA’s cast includes Akira Iwanaga, director of Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest Season 2, Shouichi Satou as series composer and scriptwriter, and Chika Kojima, character designer and chief animation director. The animation production companies are asread. and studio MOTHER.
The premise of Maboroshi no Bouken to Kiseki no Kaigou sees Hajime and his allies trying to make memories with Myu before leaving by looking into the seven legends of Erisen. During their seventh and final adventure, they encounter a massive creature and are transported to a ruined city, where Myu goes missing.
Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest is a Japanese light novel series written by Ryo Shirakome and illustrated by Takayaki. Originally a web novel, the series has been published in print since 2015. The novels are licensed in English by J-Novel Club, with Seven Seas Entertainment publishing them in print. The English translation of the light novel was done by Murtaza Burhan. A prequel light novel was published in 2017.
The series has received a manga adaptation, serialized on Ovelap’s Comic Gardo website since 2016, as well as a yonkoma comedy spinoff and a manga adaptation of the prequel novel, all three licensed by Seven Seas.
An anime television series adaptation by White Fox and Asread aired from July to October 2019. A second season by Asread and Studio Mother aired from January to March 2022.
