Amazon Prime Messes Up The Covers Of Anime In Their Listings

Made In Abyss, Gundam, Spy x Family and others were among the anime affected by this.

Amazon Prime Japan was in the limelight as multiple anime fans expressed disappointment at the streaming site for having messed up the covers of multiple anime.

The incident came to light when Twitter user @dot_kou, among others, pointed out in their tweet on Sep 25, 2022, that Amazon Prime Japan had interchanged the cover image of Made In Abyss anime and its movie with other series including Chiikawa and Lycoris Recoil.

It is not known if the covers were wrongly displayed or the names.

As the tweet trended, multiple users replied pointing out that it was not just Made In Abyss‘ cover that was erroneous, the covers or names of multiple other anime were also interchanged.

In the tweets above, it can be seen that the covers of Made In Abyss, Rent A Girlfriend, Classroom of The Elite and Spy X Family were messed up in Amazon Prime. Slam Dunk and Gundam too were not spared as their covers got interchanged as well.

A user claimed that they reached out to Amazon Prime to inquire about the bug and they advised the user to delete the app and reinstall it. While it solved the issue for the time being, the user tweeted that the bug surfaced again.

“When I inquired about Amazon prime search results, I was told to delete the app and reinstall it, which I did and it fixed the problem, but the other day the same thing happened again,” the user tweeted.

Amazon Prime Japan recently acquired the rights for Mobile Suit Gundam movie titled Mobile Suit Gundam: The Island of Cucuruz Doan, Mob Psycho 100 III, the 6th season My Hero Academia , Lupin The III vs Cat’s Eye , Made In Abyss Season 2 and Chainsaw Man.

In September 2022, the streaming company also created a Twitter account dedicated to anime only.
