Anime Expo Visitors Required To Prove They Are COVID Free

Visitors will be required to provide their vaccination certificate or negative PCR test.

The official website for Anime Expo posted a registration notice on Wednesday, Dec. 8 revealing that the event will be exercising caution during Anime Expo 2022, opening next July.

The newly-announced protocols mandate the attendees to provide either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken 72 hours prior to the event.

Masks will be obligatory indoors (except in designated eating areas) and optional outside, regardless of immunization status. More information is provided on the event’s Health & Safety page.

Anime Expo 2022 is making its return as an in-person event in Los Angeles Convention Center from July 1-4, 2022.

Priority registration will commence in Jan 10-23,2022 followed by public registration starting on Jan. 24,2022. More information will be announced as the event approaches.

Comic Market (Comiket) 99 event, which will be held later this December 2021, has also demanded to produce proof of immunization or a negative PCR test from the attendees.

Those who have provided their vaccination status will get a wristband with their current temperature and vaccination status printed on it.

In lieu of an in-person Anime Expo convention this year, the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), presented the Anime Expo Lite 2021 virtual event; it marked the 30th anniversary of the Anime Expo convention.
