When she and wallflower Hitohito Tadano find themselves alone in their classroom on the first day of high school, they somehow become friends, and Komi reveals to Tadano her goal to make a hundred friends. Tadano agrees to help her, and the two set off on their quest to overcome personal awkwardness and to befriend each of their classmates.
