Demon Slayer Season 2 Will Air From October 2021

An animation studio official revealed that Fuji TV has won the rights to broadcast Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 from this October.

Ufotable had released the official teaser for the second season along with a key visual in February. But there were no follow-up announcements regarding the season until now. The latest news informs that the broadcast decisions came to conclusion. Fuji Tv will take up the series from now on.

A local station TOKYO MX has broadcasted the first season of Demon Slayer in Japan.

The decision to air the anime series at Fuji Tv was already in place for a long time. But it was never fully finalized. From October 2020, Fuji Tv started airing the series as a “special show” on Saturdays at 9 pm after “Mugen Train’s” success. This hit an audience rate of 15% which is a low margin to stay among the five big stations. So, Fuji Tv is going to air the upcoming season of the high-profile series to increase their audience rating.

Kimestu no Yaiba Season 2 or Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-Hen is the sequel to the record-breaking movie “Mugen Train“. This season will cover the adventures in the red light district, where Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke along with the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui travel to Yoshiwara to hunt down a demon that has been terrorizing the town.

Koyoharu Gotouge wrote and illustrated the manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. It was serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020. The manga has 23 tankoubon volumes in all. Till now, Ufotable has animated 8 of the total of 23 volumes of the manga.

There is also a possible complaint that may arise with the name of “Yuukaku-hen”, says Mr. Hotaka Sugimoto, a freelance writer familiar with the content business. The “Yuukaku” in the title gives an image of prostitution which will be a concern. So, to avoid that, they will also use the notation “Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2”.
