It was revealed in Weekly Shonen Jump’s 43rd issue that Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba franchise has reached 100 million copies in circulation. This includes both digital and print copies of the manga. It is not confirmed if copies of novels in circulation have been included in the number.

This now makes the franchise one of the Top Ten series of Shonen Jump magazine based on the number copies in circulation, along with the likes of One Piece, Dragonball and Naruto. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was also Shueisha’s second highest selling manga of 2019, second only to Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece. 

Shueisha is currently holding a Kimetsu no Yaiba promotion campaign with different merch among different magazines.

Additionally, a new Demon slayer spin off manga titled “Rengoku Volume 0” will be distributed to all people attending the screening of Demon Slayer: Infinity Train movie. It will be drawn by Koyoharu Gotouge and will follow Kyojuro Rengoku as he carries out his first mission. An estimated 4.5 million copies of the manga distributed.

The manga had 12 million copies in circulation when the anime adaptation of Demon Slayer premiered in April 2019. By the time the 20th volume of the manga came out in May 2020, the number of copies in circulation had risen to 60 million. On July 3rd it was revealed that the manga had reached 80 million copies in circulation.

A sequel movie for the anime Demon Slayer will premiere in Japan this October. The manga came to an end on May 18, 2020, but the franchise will continue with a spinoff series based on the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku. Ryoji Hinaro will be working on the spinoff manga.
