Kaguya Sama Manga Is In Its Final Game, Akasaka Says

Aka Akasaka has hinted that the Kaguya Sama: Love is War Manga is in its final stage after the completion of 200 chapters. According to him the run of 200 chapters (10 chapters in the original miracle jump and 190 chapters in the current Young Jump issues) was more than what he had expected.

“It lasted longer than I thought it would,” Akasaka wrote on his twitter account.

“Kaguya Sama’s midfield game is over. We are in the final game,” he wrote.

One can assume from the tweet that at least two-thirds of the manga has been completed in these 200 chapters. So the final part may last for another 100 chapters or so (or even less). Akasaka thanked the fans for their support and asked them to stick close to the manga a little bit longer as the rom-com series prepares for its final lap.

Kaguya Sama: Love is war began serialization in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump in May 2015 and was later moved to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016. A 12-episode anime television series adaptation by A-1 Pictures aired in Japan between January and March 2019, and a second 12-episode season premiered between April and June 2020. The series also inspired a live action adaptation which released in September 2019 in Japan.

The manga became a smash hit with the followers for its fresh perspective and plot, which was not seen before in the rom-com genre. The story follows student council president Miyuki Shirogane and vice-president Kaguya Shinomiya and their many schemes to make the other one confess their love. They are too proud to confess their love as they believe whoever does so first would lose.
