The 30th Issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump revealed that Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Anime will start airing new episodes from July 5, following the delay caused due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan. The broadcast will begin with episode 155 which was originally supposed to air on May 3.
In addition to the new episodes, the previously announced Kara Arc of Boruto anime will start from Episode 157, which will air from July 19th. The anime had entered the Mujina Bandits arc in January.
New cast members, including Tetsuya Kakihara as Deepa, and Chō as Victor were announced in the mangazine. Kemjiro Tsuda was previously roped in to voice Jigen, the leader of Kara organisation, in the anime.
The new episodes of the anime were delayed due to the emergency declared in Japan to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The show has been re-airing episodes from the beginning during the period of delay.
The anime is based on Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto’s Boruto sequel manga, which launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016. The manga moved to Shueisha’s V Jump magazine last July.
