Jujutsu Kaisen Will Premier In October 2020, New PV Reveals

The first official promotional video for the upcoming TV anime Jujutsu Kaisen was released on May 20, 2020, giving more details about the anime’s cast and staff. The PV also revealed the premier date of the anime to be in October 2020.

Jujutsu Kaisen will be directed by Sunghoo Park (Garo, God of Highschool) at MAPPA studios. Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan, Mob Psycho) will handle the script for the series while . Hiroaki Tsutsumi, Yoshimasa Terui, and Arisa Okehazama will be in charge of the music. Character designs will be under Tadashi Hiramatsu (Parasyte: The Maxim, Yuri on Ice).

The protagonist Yuji Itadori will be voiced by Junya Enoki (Pannacotta from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures). Yuma Uchida (Kyo Soma from Fruits Basket) will be voicing Megumi Fushiguro, and Asami Seto (Mai Sakurajima from Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai) will be playing Nobara Kugisaki. Additionally it was revealed that Junichi Suwabe (Aizawa from My Hero Academia) will be voicing the character Sukuna in the anime.

The anime will be broadcast in the  “Super Animeism” block on MBS, TBS and their affiliates on Fridays at 25:25 (effectively 1:25 on Saturdays), ANN reported.

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on Gege Akutami’s manga and follows Yuji Itadori, who becomes the host to a powerful curse which is unknowingly unleashed by the occult club of which Yuji is a part of. The manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since March 5, 2018. As of March 2020, Jujutsu Kaisen has been collected into ten tankobon volumes by Shueisha. The eleventh volume of the manga will be out on June 4.
