New Episodes Of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Delayed Due To Concerns Regarding COVID-19

The official website of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations announced that anime will be going on a hiatus from May 3rd due to the concerns related to COVID-19 in Japan.

“The government’s announcement of an emergency for the new coronavirus infectious disease (COVID-19) has had a major impact on the production of new stories,” the message on the official website read. 

Boruto anime would have aired it’s 155th episode on May 3rd, 2020 but it will now start re-airing the series from the first episode until a new date of broadcast has been decided. The 154th episode which is scheduled to release on April 26th will be broadcasted at the scheduled time slot. 

Boruto anime had recently announced the casting of Kenjiro Tsuda as the voice actor of Jigen, giving fans hope that they will get to see the Ao arc and Kawaki arc adapted soon. The anime had adapted the Mujina bandits arc in January.

Japan is currently under a state of emergency which covers the whole country. The emergency allows prefectural governors to request certain businesses, like movie theatres and others with a risk of large gatherings, to close down. The emergency has severely affected the anime industry in Japan with a lot of shows being delayed and going on hiatus due to health and safety concerns of the staff and crew. 

Yesterday, Toei Animation announced that One Piece and Digimon adventures would be going on a hiatus due to the concerns related to the spread of novel coronavirus. Other shows including, Food WarsRe:ZeroMy Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU etc too have been affected due to emergency situation in Japan.
