10-Minute Long Special PV Released For Naruto Anime’s 20th Anniversary

Three new key visuals were also revealed as part of the 20th anniversary celebration.

The official website, launched to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Naruto anime, revealed a new special 10 minute long PV on Oct 3, 2022.

The video, titled Road of Naruto, consists of major scenes from Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden along with some of the prominent opening themes from the anime.

Three new key visuals depicting different arcs and scenarios from the anime were also revealed as part of the 20th anniversary celebration.

The first key visual, titled Ninja Opening, portrays the growth of Naruto who has just enrolled into the Ninja Academy.

The second key visual, whose title translates to “The Faraway Encounter,” portrays scenes involving Naruto and Sasuke and the latter’s conflict with his brother Itachi, who is a part of the enemy organization Akatsuki.

The third key visual, which focuses on the final decisive battle, depicts Naruto and Sasuke’s battle against their final adversary Kaguya at the end of the anime.

A fourth key visual, titled Inheritance/Legacy for the future , which will feature the younger generation, including Boruto, will be released at a later date.

Author Masashi Kishimoto too revealed a congratulatory visual to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Naruto anime. and asked fans to stay tuned to the new website for more updates regarding future projects.

“The anime Naruto is celebrating its 20th anniversary! The Naruto Official site, which opened today to commemorate this milestone, is designed to be enjoyed not only in Japan, but also by people overseas! This year is the anniversary year, and it seems that various projects are in the works, so please check this site for more information,” the author’s message read.

Based on the manga series of the same name by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto anime began airing on Oct 3, 2002. Produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex, the first part of Naruto anime aired from 2002 to 2007 with 220 episodes. A sequel titled Naruto: Shippuden began airing the same year, and continued till 2017 before ending.

Naruto: Shippuden aired for a total of 500 episodes.

The main story then continued, focusing on the younger generation, with Naruto’s son Boruto, playing the titular character in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
